FAQ
What does the GEO content checker actually score?
Six dimensions: content structure (heading hierarchy and scannability), factual density (statistics, named sources, dates per 100 words), semantic clarity (defined terms, unambiguous language), answer completeness (does the page directly answer its target query), authority signals (named author, citations, expert quotes), and competitive differentiation (proprietary angles AI can attribute uniquely to you).
How is this different from a content score from Surfer or Frase?
Classic content scores chase median keyword density on the SERP — patterns from 2018. AI engines don't read keyword frequency; they extract self-contained factual passages. Our checker grades extractability, not keyword tuning. The two scoring systems often disagree, and post-Helpful Content Update, the AI side is the one that determines citations.
Will improving my GEO score actually get me cited in ChatGPT?
Citation depends on three things: (a) being structurally extractable — what we score, (b) being indexed by the model's training or retrieval data, and (c) brand authority on third-party sources like Reddit and review sites. The checker fixes (a), the necessary but not sufficient condition. Pair with our AI Crawlability Checker for (b) and Reddit Threads Finder for (c).
Can I score a competitor's page, not just my own?
Yes. Paste any URL — the tool scrapes the content and runs the same six-dimension scoring. Useful for understanding why a specific competitor consistently appears in AI Overviews while you don't, and for reverse-engineering the structural moves working in your category.
How long is a typical content rewrite cycle?
Most pages need 10–30 minutes of structural rewrites — adding a 40–60 word direct answer under each H2, defining ambiguous terms, breaking walls of text into 120–180 word passages. Re-running the checker takes 15 seconds. Two iterations usually move a page from low to high citability for its primary query.
