How accurate is the domain traffic checker?
Estimates are modeled from clickstream panels and search-engine click data — directional rather than exact GA4 numbers. Expect ±20–40% variance vs first-party analytics. The authority and keyword counts (DR, ranked keywords, referring domains) are tighter than absolute monthly traffic. Use the tool for relative comparisons and trend direction, not for billing-grade visit counts.
Where does the traffic data come from?
We pull from Ahrefs' Site Explorer index — the same data Ahrefs sells in their $129/month Lite plan. That index combines a 25+ trillion backlink graph, SERP scrapes across 171 countries, and modeled click distribution. We expose the headline metrics (DR, traffic, keywords, refdomains) for free; the per-keyword and per-page breakdowns stay paid.
Can I check page-level traffic, not just domain-level?
Yes. Paste a full URL (https://example.com/blog/seo-guide) and the tool returns page-mode metrics: organic keywords ranking that single page, monthly traffic, and traffic value. Domain mode (just example.com) returns whole-site metrics. The widget auto-detects which mode you're in based on the input format.
Will this show me competitor keywords?
The free checker returns the count of organic keywords a domain ranks for, plus traffic and traffic-value totals. For the actual keyword list, positions, and SERP features, sign up to AIclicks' app or use Ahrefs Site Explorer directly. Headline numbers here, per-keyword detail in the paid plans.
Why does my domain show 'N/A' for some metrics?
'N/A' appears for very new domains, parked domains, or sites with no detectable backlinks or SERP rankings in the last 90 days. If you're certain the domain is live, double-check URL format (correct subdomain, no extra slashes). Sites under roughly 50 monthly organic visits often won't return values either — Ahrefs' index requires a minimum signal threshold.
