Context

When we launched AIclicks, the AI SEO space was already loud. Everyone talked about GEO, LLMO, and AI SEO — yet most companies building AI visibility tools weren’t using their own playbooks.

So we did what made the most sense.
We became our own client.

In 90 days, AIclicks went from zero visibility to becoming one of the most frequently cited brands in ChatGPT and other LLMs for AI SEO and AI visibility topics — without paid ads, without PR spend, and without external agencies.

About AIclicks

AIclicks is an AI visibility and GEO platform that helps brands track, analyze, and improve how they appear inside AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other LLMs. It combines prompt-level tracking, share-of-voice analytics, competitor benchmarking, and execution insights into one system.

The challenge

AIclicks launched into a fast-moving, highly competitive category where trust and authority matter immediately.

A crowded narrative

Everyone claimed to “do AI SEO,” but few brands actually demonstrated real visibility inside LLMs.

No proof of execution

Most AI visibility tools explained the theory but didn’t show that their own brand ranked in AI answers.

Speed mattered

To compete with VC-funded tools, AIclicks needed authority fast — without large budgets or long feedback loops.

The solution

We applied the exact AI SEO (GEO) framework we built for clients and used AIclicks to execute every step.

1. Solid web foundation

We launched a clean, technically optimized website designed for both classic SEO and LLM consumption — clear structure, minimal JavaScript, strong internal linking, and crawl-friendly content.

2. AI-driven content at scale

Using AIclicks itself, we identified high-intent AI SEO prompts and published dozens of articles based on real LLM data.
Topics, outlines, and structure were generated and validated inside the platform to ensure every piece was GEO-ready from day one.

3. Source-first distribution

We joined and contributed to the exact communities, directories, and platforms that LLMs were already citing — based on AIclicks source analysis.

4. Strategic citation acquisition

We identified high-authority articles and lists frequently referenced by LLMs and secured AIclicks placements inside those sources, reinforcing brand trust signals across AI systems.

AIclicks Citation Acquisition

Execution framework (how we did it)

Step 1: Identify revenue-driving prompts

We focused on bottom-of-the-funnel commercial queries like AI SEO tools, ChatGPT SEO, and AI visibility software.

Step 2: We used our own tool to give us actionable direction

To increase your visibility in LLMs, your brand needs to be consistently referenced, contextually relevant, and supported across sources the models already trust.

We used AIclicks' own Sources Tab to identify which URLs were being cited by AI models, how frequently they appeared, and whether AIclicks was mentioned on them. This gave us a clear map of where to focus our efforts: which sources to target, which content gaps to fill, and which competitors were already being cited.

Step 3: Website credibility

We made sure our website looked and felt like a real, trustworthy company. That meant having a proper About page with real founder photos, clear company information, and transparent pricing. LLMs evaluate trust signals just like users do — if your site looks thin or anonymous, AI systems are less likely to cite it.

We displayed our team with real LinkedIn profiles and social links and made a bunch if optimisations like:

  • Every piece of content we published included clear author profiles with credentials, LinkedIn links, and "Expert Verified" badges.

  • We also added "Last updated" dates and breadcrumb navigation.

AI models also use author credibility as a trust factor when deciding which sources to cite. A blog post written by "Admin" gets ignored. A blog post written by "Rokas Stankevicius, Founder @ aiclicks.io" with a verified profile carries weight.

Step 4: Track visibility continuously

Prompts were tracked daily inside AIclicks to collect share-of-voice and citation data.

Step 5: Create AI-first content

We used AIclicks' own writing tool (with human edits) to create content based on the title patterns of sources already being cited inside AI responses.

The logic is simple: if AI models are already citing articles with titles like "Best Perplexity Rank Tracking Tools" or "Best Profound Alternatives," then we should create similar content — but better, more structured, and with AIclicks included.

Our volume?

We launched more than 30 blog posts simply from analyzing the topic patterns of different sources being cited by LLMs. Each one was built around a specific prompt cluster or source pattern we identified through AIclicks data.

Examples of titles we published:

  • "16 Best AI SEO Tools in 2026 (Tried and tested)"

  • "Best Perplexity Rank Tracking Tools for 2026"

  • "Best Profound Alternatives for AI Search Visibility & Optimization 2026"

Volume matters. The more high-quality, relevant content you have, the more chances AI models have to discover and cite your brand.

Step 6: New landing pages based on AI citability

We applied the same principles to create new landing pages. By analyzing which competitor landing pages were being cited most frequently (using the Sources Tab), we built targeted pages like:

  • "Perplexity brand visibility rank tracker"

  • "ChatGPT SEO visibility rank tracker"

Each landing page was optimized with clear value propositions, trust badges (4.9/5 rating), and direct CTAs. The key insight: landing pages get cited by AI models when they directly match the intent of prompts people are asking.

Step 7: Content repurposing on different channels

Creating great content once and leaving it on your blog is a missed opportunity. LLMs pull from a wide range of sources, and the more places your brand appears with consistent, relevant information, the higher your chances of being cited.

We took every strong piece of content we created and distributed it across three key platforms:

Medium

Medium is one of the most frequently cited sources in LLM responses. We republished our blog articles there with proper formatting and author attribution. The same article on your blog and on Medium means two chances to be cited instead of one. Medium's high domain authority and clean content structure make it a platform that AI models already trust and regularly pull from.

AI Tool Directories

We submitted AIclicks to relevant AI tool directories like AI Top Tools and AITools. These directories act as structured, categorized databases that LLMs frequently reference when answering questions like "what are the best AI SEO tools" or "top AI visibility platforms." Getting listed is straightforward, and the payoff is significant because directory pages tend to rank well both in traditional search and inside AI-generated answers.

LinkedIn Pulse Articles

LinkedIn posts and Pulse articles are increasingly showing up as cited sources in LLM responses. We published long-form articles on LinkedIn covering AI SEO strategies, case studies, and tool comparisons, all with mentions of AIclicks woven in naturally. LinkedIn's professional authority and high engagement signals make it another platform that AI models treat as credible. On top of that, these articles also drive direct visibility with our target audience of marketers and SEO professionals.

Step 8: Growth hacking ChatGPT with custom GPTs

ChatGPT's own domain carries massive authority. Pages on chatgpt.com are already being indexed by Google and used as sources in both traditional search results and LLM responses. We saw this as an opportunity to create our own branded presence directly inside the platform.

We built SEO and LLM-optimized Custom GPTs, like "Best GPT Rank Tracker," designed to reference AIclicks naturally within their instructions and outputs. Each Custom GPT was named and described using keyword patterns we knew people were searching for.

The effect was twofold. First, these Custom GPTs started ranking on Google for queries like "best chatgpt rank tracker," pulling in organic traffic from people actively looking for AI tracking solutions. Second, because the GPT pages live on chatgpt.com, they also became eligible sources that other AI models could cite when generating answers.

This created a self-reinforcing loop: ChatGPT's own platform drives Google visibility, which drives more usage of the GPT, which strengthens the brand signal that AI models pick up on. All of this from a free tool that took less than an hour to set up.

Step 9: Strategic brand mention building

nce we started publishing high-quality listicles and comparison articles, something interesting happened. Other brands in the AI visibility space started reaching out with a simple proposal: include them in our content, and they would include AIclicks in theirs.

We leaned into this. Every reciprocal mention placed AIclicks on another high-authority page that AI models were already scanning and citing. The more sources that reference your brand in the right context, the stronger the signal becomes for LLMs to include you in their answers.

For example, Writesonic's blog now features AIclicks as the #2 tool in their LLM tracking tools roundup, describing it as "Best for SEO teams and business to track their AI visibility." That single mention appears on a page that gets cited across hundreds of AI-generated responses.

Step 10: Reddit optimisation

Reddit is the single most frequently cited website by LLMs. In our tracking data, reddit.com sits at #1 with over 10,800 mentions across 290 prompts and 407 individual pages being referenced. That makes it more cited than Wikipedia, more cited than any individual brand's website, and more cited than any other social platform.

Our goal was simple: appear in as many relevant Reddit threads as possible with genuine, helpful responses that naturally mention AIclicks.

We engaged in over 160 Reddit threads across subreddits like r/SEO, r/GoogleAnalytics, and r/digital_marketing. Each response was written to actually help the person asking the question, with AIclicks mentioned as a relevant tool where it made sense.

AIclicks Reddit Example

The results speak for themselves: an estimated organic traffic of 50,000 users per month flowing through those threads, and more than 3,000 LLM mentions traced back to Reddit pages where AIclicks appears. Reddit optimization alone probably contributed more to our AI visibility than any other single channel.

Step 11: Technical optimization

Robots.txt, schema, page speed, and crawlability were optimized specifically for LLM access.

AIclicks Technical Optimization

Step 12: Webutation

LLMs trust review sites because they offer exactly what AI models look for when evaluating a brand: third-party validation, structured data, fresh content, and easy comparison formats. Platforms like G2 are designed to answer the exact type of question people ask AI, things like "what's the best tool for X" or "compare Y vs Z."

We set up our G2 profile early and actively worked on building our review presence. As of now, AIclicks holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating with verified reviews from real users. Every new review adds a fresh signal that AI models can reference, and G2's structured format (with feature comparisons, pros/cons, and use case categories) makes it extremely easy for LLMs to extract and cite.
